Jack and the Beanstalk
(Warrell Seedling x Big Bird) x (Tetra Spindazzle) Tet 8” Dor  65” M  (Gossard 2002)
Amply named as it towers over all the daylilies in the garden.  It reminds me of the famous tale of Jack and the Beanstalk where the giant is descending on pursuit of Jack.  The beanstalk is swaying in the wind as Jack starts his chopping process.  Scapes will lean when wet or heavy with pods. Important parent for those hybridizing for giant tall flowers. It is the tallest daylily I grow. Not recommended for the South. The flower is 8-9” Golden yellow with 12-15 bud count and 2-3 way branching. Scape height varies from 62-70 inches.  Dormant and fertile both ways.             $30.00 (Double Fans)
